Reforming the Calendar?

I really appreciate professors who stay in touch with their students, even after a class has ended. Anyway, I recently received an email from such a professor and he informed us of a modern proposal to reform the calendar, as we had briefly discussed the history of the calendar as it pertained to early modern Europeans. I thought this was quite an interesting read, though I’m not sure how I feel about having my birthday fall on the same day every year! Enjoy!
